Landscape Gardens Designers and Implementing Partners

ELIAM ENG & ANDY ENG (SINGAPORE) are returning winners of SGF, after winning Gold, Best of Show and the Best Construction Award in 2022. They are both from Nyee Phoe Flower Garden, a landscape architecture company that celebrated its 112th anniversary in 2023. Eliam has over 41 years of experience in landscape architecture and construction including local and international projects ranging from residential and commercial spaces to urban development. Eliam is also an affiliate member of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA).

Andy’s experience in the landscape and horticultural industry spans over 20 years. His portfolio include private residences, condominiums, hotels, Singapore Changi Airport, commercial buildings and festive season floral setups. As a Project Director, he leads a vibrant team of designers and staff in the firm.

CHIN-JUNG CHEN (UNITED KINGDOM) & LIBBY TANDIAN (SINGAPORE) will be pairing up for the first time at SGF 2024. They each have wide experience in the landscape industry and have been involved in different projects of varying scales.

Chin-Jung Chen (Chin), Associate Director at Grant Associates, was originally trained as an architect and joined Grant Associates in January 2006 after graduating from The Bartlett University College London. Chin went on to study Landscape Architecture at Kingston University to consolidate her professional career. Chin is especially interested in the creation of playful experiences that combine Architecture and Landscape Architecture and working with different disciplines. She has participated in several competitions, including winning competitions such as the Piccadilly Gardens Competition in Manchester and YTL Green Home Competition titled ‘Bird Island’ in Kuala Lumpur.

Libby Tandian, Senior Associate at Grant Associates, has been working in the landscape industry since 2004. Libby has worked on prestigious award-winning projects in Singapore, including clinching the Landscape Industry Association (Singapore)’s ‘LIAS Best of Category for Implementation 2017’ and various awards by the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects. She has also been instrumental in achieving BCA Green Mark Platinum Awards for her projects.

EMILY COOK & MARK COOK (USA) have been the owners of Mark Cook Landscape & Contracting for 23 years. They are known for their innovative designs involving a varied pallet in horticulture combined with artistic architecture. Mark, both a landscape designer and an artist, graduated with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture in 2000 when the company began. From initial concept to creation and construction, the two tailor each design with their shared understanding and desire to expand the boundaries of landscape design.

KAZUYUKI ISHIHARA (JAPAN) entered Ikenobo, the mainstream school of flower arranging at the age of 22. Since then, he has been fascinated by flowers and greenery, and started selling flowers on the street, opening a store, and then building a garden. His unique worldview using moss in his garden was highly praised at the Chelsea Flower Show, the most prestigious international flower show. To date, he has won a total of 11 gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show. Kazuyuki Ishihara was once praised as the "green magician" by Queen Elizabeth. He has produced numerous works with rich design and solid construction technology that have been recognized around the world.

ANN TEO (SINGAPORE) is a SILA (Singapore Institute of Landscape Architect) accredited landscape architect with more than 30 years of experience and holds five different qualifications. With an intuitive and innovative approach, she delves into landscape design, uncovering and exalting the unique essence of every project she embraces. With skills sharpened by her education background of horticulture, arboriculture, management, business administration, biotechnology and law, Ann is able to apply her knowledge to a wide spectrum that transcends the traditional boundaries of Landscape Architecture.

ALAN RUDDEN (IRELAND) is a Dublin-based garden designer and horticulturist with almost 20 years’ experience in the industry. He has won many accolades for his innovative garden designs, including eight gold medals at Bord Bia Bloom and one at Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. Alan is in the process of expanding his design-only practice, building on his success to date.
